BEING A COACH

Being a coach is a rewarding experience because you are helping our youth develop and achieve their goals. This is an opportunity to make a difference and see first-hand the impact of your leadership and guidance. It's also a chance to give something back to the community by having a positive impact on the growth of our youth.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Communications
It is important to be in close communication with the team Parent Rep as well as your division Commissioner. Information will be dispersed through you and your team's Parent Rep.

FAQs
Q: What are the available season-long volunteer roles?
A: Head Coach, Assistant Coach, Parent Representative and Mandated Reporter

Q: I completed the required training courses for the Spring 2024 season; do I need to do it again?
A: If the training was completed for the Spring 2024 season, that certificate may be used for the Spring 2025 season as well; however, the League highly recommends volunteers to refresh their applicable training annually.

Q: I volunteer for other sports organizations and have completed similar courses for them. Do those certifications carry over to Sansei Baseball League?
A: If the program you completed previously is the SAME as what Sansei Baseball is requiring to be completed, the certificate will be accepted. Ex. You completed an NFHS Concussion in Sports certification for a different league; Sansei Baseball will accept this certification as it is the same course we are requiring. Ex. You completed an AYSO Safe Haven certification; Sansei Baseball will NOT accept this certification as it is NOT the same course we are requiring.

Q: I have already completed a Live Scan for another organization. Can I submit that Live Scan?
A: No. Unfortunately, AB506 requires each sports organization/league to maintain their own independent files on volunteers. As a result, Sansei Baseball will require all volunteers to get a Live Scan for Sansei Baseball.

Q: I already got my Livescan completed for Sansei Baseball (ORI#AX802) during the Spring 2024 season. Do I need to get another Livescan completed?
A: No, if you’ve already completed the Live Scan FOR SANSEI BASEBALL (ORI#AX802), you will not need to get another scan done.

Q: Where can I go to get my Live Scan?
A: Sansei Baseball league hosted #1 All Safe & Secure Fingerprints & Notary at our annual Photo Day for the Spring 2024 season so they are familiar with our League, but you can get your Live Scan completed at any vendor you choose. The California State Office of the Attorney General webpage has a comprehensive list of Live Scan locations at https://oag.ca.gov/fingerprints/locations?county=Los+Angeles.

Q: Who can I contact if I have any questions?
A: Please email the League’s compliance coordinator, Shozo Yoshikawa at [email protected], and CC your team’s parent representative.
